macOS Tiling Window Manager Setup
01 October 2026
Setup Yabai: a full macOS tiling window manager setup built after AeroSpace broke on macOS 26 (Tahoe) — keyboard-driven window management, status bar, and window borders, all scripted and documented.
- yabai + skhd: tiling window manager and keybind daemon, replacing a broken AeroSpace setup, with a full keybind table for focus, swap, and space navigation.
- sketchybar: custom status bar showing spaces, the active app, and a clock, driven by small shell plugins.
- borders: Catppuccin-themed active/inactive window border styling.
